Harrison Ford reveals his famous ear piercing after having lunch with Jimmy Buffett

Harrison Ford has a message for the late Jimmy Buffett – all ears.

Ford, 81, revealed that he got his famous ear piercing years ago after having a wine-filled lunch with the “Margaritaville” singer and “60 Minutes” correspondent Ed Bradley.

Ford made the admission during the “Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett” gala held April 12 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, according to People.

Buffett died last September at the age of 76.

Bradley died in 2006.

Ford appeared at Buffett’s tribute concert to perform for Zac Brown Band and told the audience that “Jimmy Buffett was a great guy,” according to the report.

“I remember one day that was a long time ago – some might say drunk “We had lunch with Jimmy and Ed Bradley, and it was Bradley’s birthday,” Ford said. “I saw they were both wearing earrings. So right after lunch, I got my ears pierced.

“That’s how infectious Jimmy’s coolness is,” Ford continued. “Contagious enough for a 40-year-old man to spontaneously pierce his ear.

“And infectious enough to create an entire culture around his music.

“There’s no other way to say it: there will never be another person like Jimmy.”

Ford added that “cool guys are usually not that nice,” but that’s not the case with Buffet — who, he said, “was more than nice.”

“He was kind. He was loved by his family, his friends, his band, his crew, his collaborators, and he loved them all,” Ford commented.

The “Keep the Party Going” event featured performances from Paul McCartney, The Eagles, Sheryl Crow, Jon Bon Jovi and others — as well as speakers including Jane Fonda and Woody Harrelson, People reported.

This is not the first time Ford has spoken about Buffett’s influence on his life. In February, Ford gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter in which he mentioned his connection to Ford’s near-fatal plane crash in 2015.

Ford, a licensed pilot, suffered serious injuries after landing his vintage World War II plane on a golf course in California. He suffered a broken ankle and pelvis and numerous bruises and cuts. He eventually recovered from his injuries.

The “Indiana Jones” star also headlines the Paramount Network series and “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” with Helen Mirren and co-stars in the Apple TV+ series “Shrinking” opposite Jason Segel.

“It changed a lot of things in my life [after the crash]. my wife [Calista Flockhart] She won’t fly with me on vintage planes anymore, she will do so on other planes.

“I certainly don’t want to have to recover from that type of incident again,” Ford said. “It was very hard on my family and it was hard on me too.

“I’m back flying. I know what happened. So that’s part of the reason.” [I went back]“There was a mechanical problem with the plane that I could not have known about or taken care of in any way,” he added.

“So in the words of the great philosopher Jimmy Buffett: Nothing happens.”
