Kate Middleton relies on her parents for support amid cancer battle: They are the “true anchors of her life”
Kate Middleton is receiving support from her family amid her cancer diagnosis.
“She has a very tight group of friends, especially in Norfolk, really close friends there,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published Tuesday. “But I think the real anchors in her life are her parents… her brother James… and her sister Pippa.”
“Although you certainly don’t see them photographed together very often, they are very much in the background,” she continued. “It’s absolutely basic.”
James shared a message of support for his big sister after her shocking announcement with a throwback photo of the pair when they were children.
“Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this with you too ⛰️❤️,” he captioned the touching post.
Nicole also said that the Princess of Wales’s parents, Carole and Michael, were “relieved” to discover she had cancer in its early stages and felt “rea*sured by the fact that chemotherapy is preventive chemotherapy.”
“Katherine will have the best doctors in the world taking care of her, so she is in good hands,” Nicholl said.
“Carole and Michael, they’ve always been an incredibly strong couple and very humble as well… What they’re going to do now is they’re going to come together and support her – not just William and Kate, [but] And their grandchildren too.”
In the video of her cancer diagnosis announcement, which Middleton, 42, shared on Friday, she said her husband, Prince William, was by her side as a “wonderful source of comfort and rea*surance.”
The Prince of Wales, 41, pulled out of a memorial service honoring his late godfather, King Constantine II of Greece, in February after learning of Middleton’s illness, Page Six has learned.
The couple have since fled to Anmer Hall in Norfolk with their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, to enjoy family time.
Middleton will not join the royal family for Easter Ma*s this year due to her ongoing chemotherapy treatment. It is not clear whether William and their children will appear.

According to a palace insider, William is “doing his best” to balance his responsibilities while his wife focuses on her health.
A Page Six source added: “One minute he was running the school and now he’s under incredible pressure.”
Naturally, Middleton’s diagnosis announcement came one month after her father-in-law, King Charles III, revealed he was being treated for cancer.
