Morgan Wallen breaks silence on Nashville arrest: ‘I’m not proud of my behavior’

Morgan Wallen takes “responsibility” and expresses remorse for his April 7 arrest in Nashville, Tennessee.

“I didn’t feel right to sign on publicly until I made amends with some people,” the country singer said He said in a statement on social media Friday. “I reached out to Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s.”

He added: “I am not proud of my actions, and I bear responsibility.”

“I have the utmost respect for the officers who work every day to keep us all safe,” Wallen continued in a second tweet.

He also confirmed that there would be “no change” regarding the 2024 leg of his One Night at a Time World Tour, which kicked off in Indianapolis, Indiana, just days before his arrest.

The 30-year-old “Last Night” singer was taken into police custody on a charge of reckless endangerment after he threw a chair from the roof of Eric Church’s honky-tonk bar, at Chef’s on Broadway.

The chair fell near two officers who were standing in front of the six-story restaurant. He was also charged with disorderly conduct.

He didn’t seem too worried about the incident as he smiled at his photo. He was released from the Davidson County Jail around 3:30 a.m. on April 8 after his bail was set at $15,250.

He must appear in court on May 3, which will arrive on the same day as his second scheduled tour stop in Nashville.

Wallen reportedly reacted with anger when he learned that his ex-fiancee, Katie “KT” Smith, married Luke Scornavaco on April 3.

“KT marrying Luke last week just crushed him,” an insider claimed to the Daily Mail. “Whatever happened in that bar must have been a reality that hit him in the face because he lost the love of his life.”

The Grammy-nominated singer got engaged to KT in 2016 after a few months of dating, but they split for good in November 2019. However, they welcomed a son together in 2020.

Meanwhile, another source claimed to People that Wallen’s drinking habits contributed to his tantrum.

“Morgan is generally a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he starts, he doesn’t know when to stop,” the insider claimed.

“Morgan and alcohol is a problem, and it’s a problem that keeps coming up.”

Wallen was arrested in 2020 at Kid Rock’s bar in Nashville on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

He was also hit with a DUI charge in 2016, but the case was dropped.
