Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson team up for the Naked Gun remake

Get ready to get dressed for the new version of “Naked Gun.”

Pamela Anderson has signed on to star opposite Liam Neeson in a new film titled Naked Gun, expected to be released on July 18, 2025.

Neeson, 71, has been cast as clueless police detective Frank Drebin, and Anderson, 56, is set to play his lover.

The Post has reached out to both Neeson and Anderson for comment.

The original film, written and directed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and David Zucker, was inspired by the miniseries “Police Squad,” which aired for six episodes in the 1980s.

Leslie Nielsen, who has died aged 84, created the role of Drebin while starring opposite Priscilla Presley.

It is currently unclear who will play Norberg, Drebin’s partner, portrayed by the late OJ Simpson.

Akiva Schaeffer will direct Paramount Picture’s untitled remake with a script by Dan Gregor and Doug Mund.

The trio previously collaborated on the Emmy Award-winning Disney+ film “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.”

Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins will also produce the film through their company Fuzzy Door.

Many X (formerly Twitter) users took to the social media platform about the development.

“Anyone who says this is a bad idea clearly doesn’t know the recipe for success when they see it,” one user commented. “I actually support this movie.”

“This is going to be a masterpiece,” said another person.

“Honestly, I’m sorry about this,” a third person declared. “Priscilla Presley gives one of my favorite comedic performances ever in the original film, and the pairing of Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson looks so crazy that it might even work!”

Anderson is no stranger when it comes to movie remakes, having starred in the 2017 film version of “Baywatch” as C.J. Parker — a character he portrayed in 110 episodes of the 1989 drama series — alongside Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Alexandra Daddario.

Anderson returned to the spotlight in 2022 with the Hulu mini-series “Pam & Tommy,” which focused on her turbulent relationship with Tommy Lee and the subsequent s*x tape scandal.

Anderson later released a response to the show — which starred Lily James and Sebastian Stan — in the form of a Netflix doc titled “Pamela, A Love Story.”
