How to watch

what do you know

Portland will be in front of its home fans on Thursday, but a look at the spread shows they may need home-field advantage. They and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will face off in a West Coast Battle at 9:00 PM ET at Chili’s Center. Portland enters the game on a four-game losing streak, while the Bulldogs will bounce back with four straight wins.

It’s hard to win when you don’t work as a unit and give out 12 fewer a*sists than your opponent, a fact Portland found out the hard way on Saturday. Things couldn’t get worse for them as they lost 91-70 to the Waves.

Portland’s loss should not overshadow the performance of Tyler Robertson, who scored 23 points and seven rebounds, and Vukasin Masic, who scored 17 points with five rebounds and three steals. Masek didn’t help Portland much against the Toreros on Thursday but the same can’t be said for this matchup.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga put the finishing touches on its 12th win of the season on Saturday. They beat the Tigers for a 102-76 win at home. The margin was wide but not surprising as the margin was 31 in favor of Gonzaga.

Gonzaga’s win was the result of several great offensive plays. Most notable came from Graham Icke, who scored 21 points with six rebounds and two blocks. Ike hasn’t dropped below 21 points in three straight games. Ryan Nembhard was another key contributor, scoring 18 points and ten a*sists.

The Flyers haven’t been sharp lately as the team has lost ten of their last 12 games, taking a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for the Bulldogs, they’ve had a lot of success lately: They’ve won nine of their last 10 contests, providing a nice boost to their 20-6 record this season.

Portland was crushed by the Bulldogs 96-64 in their previous meeting on February 7. The game was all but over by halftime, at which point Portland was down 50-23.
