Stevie Nicks writes a poignant poem about heartbreak for Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets’ Oath: “For a T and Me”

Stevie Nicks has lent her creative genius to Taylor Swift for the singer’s upcoming album, “Tortured Poets Oath.”

The 75-year-old Fleetwood Mac alumnus wrote a poignant poem about heartbreak that serves as an introduction to the 11th studio album from the 14-time Grammy winner, which was released on Friday and unveiled as a double album in a surprise announcement to fans at 2 a.m.

Nicks writes in part: “He was in love with her / Or at least she thought so / She was broken-hearted / Maybe he was / And neither of them knew it.”

“She was too hot to handle / He was too hot to try… He really can’t answer her / He’s afraid of her / He’s hiding from her / And he knows he’s hurting her / She’s telling the truth / She’s writing about it / She Informant/He’s a former lover.

“There’s nothing for her / She’s already gone / There’s nothing that can stop her,” the hitmaker continues on “Edge of Seventeen.”

“She was just flying / through the clouds / when he saw her / she was just on her way / to the stars / when he lost her…”

Swift’s crush on the “Dreams” singer has been known for a long time since the duo took the stage together at the Grammy Awards in 2010.

The duo performed Swift’s “You Belong with Me” and Nicks’ hit song “Rhiannon,” after which Swift gushed about the “fairytale” experience.

For her part, Nicks praised Swift’s “determination” and her “childlike nature” at the time, adding, “This girl writes songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John.”

“Taylor reminds me of myself with her determination and childlike nature. It’s an innocence so special and so rare,” Nicks wrote to Time magazine shortly after Swift won Album of the Year for her sophomore album, “Fearless.”

“This girl writes songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John. She sings, writes, performs, and plays great guitar,” Nicks continued.

“Taylor can write songs that could be considered pop or rock and then fall back into country music. When I turned 20, I had just made a serious decision to never work as a dental a*sistant. Taylor had just turned 20, and she won With four Grammy Awards.

Nicks previously dazzled with the 34-year-old singer while at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, in May 2023.

“Thank you to Taylor Swift for doing this thing for me, which is writing a song called ‘You’re Alone, Baby,'” Nicks told the audience.

“That’s the sadness I feel. As long as Chris was around, even on the other side of the world, we never had to talk on the phone. “We weren’t really phone friends.”

“Then we would go back to Fleetwood Mac, come in and say, ‘Little sister, how are you?’ It was as if a minute had never gone by, and in 47 years of our lives there had never been an argument.”

“So, when it was just the two of us, we were alone, kids, we always were. And now, I have to learn to be alone, my child, by myself. So, you’re helping me do it. Thank you.”
