Sydney Sweeney’s acting coach speaks out after Hollywood producer Carole Baum’s scathing comments

Sydney Sweeney’s acting coach Scott Sedita has claimed the ‘Euphoria’ star is a ‘serious actress’ after producer Carol Baum criticized her.

“Sydney is beautiful because she has the inner depth, the intellect, the compa*sion, the style, the facial features — the eyes, the smile, the cheekbones — that the camera angles capture,” Sidita told TMZ. “The camera loves her ‘look’ and so does the audience. The audience loves her because she is a friendly person.”

“I’ve had ups and downs in this business,” he continued.

“So you have to be a pretty serious actress if you’re going to go through all that. When she receives feedback or criticism, she processes it and uses her acting style and makes adjustments.

Sedita’s supportive comments come after Baum, 81, said the “White Lotus” alum “can’t act.”

“She’s not pretty, and she can’t act,” Baum said during a screening of her 1988 film “Dead Ringers” at the Jacob Burns Center in Pleasantville, New York, last weekend. “I don’t understand Sidney Sweeney.”

Baum’s a*sessment of the 26-year-old actor’s acting ability came after watching Sweeney and Glen Powell in their thriller “Anyone But You.”

“I wanted to know who she was and why everyone was talking about her,” Baum reportedly told the audience before saying the film was “unwatchable.”

“I said to my cla*s, ‘Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act.’ Why is she so hot,” the “Father of the Bride” producer continued. “No one had an answer.”

Despite the unflattering statements, Baum admitted that she would still work with Sweeney on the project.

Many fans of the “Immaculate” star criticized Baum for her statements.

Hollywood producer Carol Baum, who looks like this, criticizes Sydney Sweeney, saying that she is not beautiful. someone wrote On X (formerly Twitter).

“Oh God, give me the confidence of the great Hollywood producer Carol Baum who said this about Sidney Sweeney.”[she’s] She is not beautiful and cannot act. Judge for yourself, second person He added.

Sweeney’s representatives later told The Post that it was “shameful” that Baum would say things like that.

“How sad that a woman in a position to share her expertise and experience would choose to attack another woman instead,” a spokesperson for the two-time Emmy nominee told The Post.

“If this is what she has learned over her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, then that is shameful. To unfairly belittle a productive colleague speaks volumes about Ms. Baum’s character.”

Baum has since regretted making the comments.

“She wishes she had never made her original comments, and coming off like that in public is usually not her style,” TMZ reported.
